Introducing Chat - 6month Trial

We are introducing a real time chat room for a 6month trial period. This will be a Premium Members only feature, however the chat room will initially be open to standard members as well. (Note that new members to the forum will need a certain number of minimum posts before they are moved to the standard member group and able to access the chat).

If this feature is popular we will introduce it as a permanent Premium Member feature.

The chat window will open in a new window when you click the 'Chat' tab, there is currently a maximum of 50 online users at once, and you will be logged off of the chat if you are inactive for 30mins.

You are able to post chat in the chat room as well as private chat with online chat users. Please note that the chat is only stored temporarily on the servers so any important info that you don't want to get lost you may wish to PM (Private Message) as well so they are stored in their mail inbox.

Please don't confuse Private Chat messages with PM's (Private Messages), as all Chat messages are stored temporarily whereas Private Messages go to the users inbox and are stored until deleted by the user.

The chat is closed between 6am and 8.59am GMT. (1am EST and 4am EST) This is based on google analytics statists and the opening times will be extended when there is enough traffic on the forum during this time.

I think I forgot to enable the tab link in the menu for the Moderator group. I currently have acces via mobile only and need a computer to adjust this setting.

In the meanwhile you can open a new tab and go to http://www.thesilverforum.com/chat to access it.

@HelpingHands I can't seem to see any settings that are disallowing you from accessing the chat. Can you see the chat tab?

Anyone else having difficulty accessing chat?

No.  I can't see any options.  I remember what the tab looked like when you tested it some months back.  I've tried switching between the board themes classic and TSF blue.

If its just me I can wait.

The chat room feature was not being used at all and since I have decided not to continue paying for it. The chat room has now been removed.
