Dishonesty in Shipping

Pete

Recommended Posts

I won an eBay coin recently and the seller stated shipping would be by Special Delivery costing £6.95

He advised it had shipped and instead of providing the tracking number he entered my postcode but with an error. When the coin did not arrive as promised I started to query its whereabouts.

I had to wait before I could open a resolution in eBay for non delivery.

On the day the case number was assigned, the coin arrived as it had been posted regular post and no tracking etc. I could have kept silent and continued with my claim as no-one could have verified receipt.

Being honest I confirmed receipt but requested a refund on the difference in shipping having been invoiced for Special Delivery. This was ignored so I escalated to eBay. Today eBay acknowledges the seller as a bad boy, closes the case and I am left out of pocket.

What would you fellow stackers do ?

I am surprised Ebay didn't make the seller refund some of the postage. you did the right thing.  Leave him bad feedback about postage to let everyone else know what he has done, as long as you don't exaggerate he cannot do anything about it.

It could have been a simple mistake, accidentally sent the item by the wrong delivery method.

But to then not refund you the difference in postage as requested! Well that is not very honest at all.

leave him a negative feedback rating stating that the seller charged you extra for a priority postage service that they did not use. And then write an actual letter and post it to his address.

He should care and should refund you, I would have. It could have been an honest mistake but it doesn't look like it. He is obviously trying to cover fees with you paying for it.

I would leave that negative feedback, because its one thing a good seller never wants to see and makes the buyer think twice when checking the seller out.

I agree he should have refunded you,but you live and learn don't suppose you'll buy from him again, I've had this happen to me a couple of times and I've never bought again from those dealers.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.

I spent ages on the phone with eBay today as I am a stubborn old bugger when I get conned.

I was passed to 3 different sections.

Finally they decided to raise a case number and sent it to the seller under their resolution procedure.

Apparently you cannot raise more than one case against a single item.

I am fighting principals here.

When I get charged £6.95 for Special Delivery I do not accept first class unsigned, uninsured regular post.

Too bloody right Pete.

Nice one for following through with it, I would have been too lazy.
