So, its the "larger" quarterly coin fair in Brum this sunday,

Anyone else going to risk their sanity, wallets, and sense of smell by attending? Personally my lovely wife is away for the weekend, so i am going to go for something to do.....i normally last about 30mins max there, but i have £ in my pocket and free time so will give it a shot.

Looking for a gold coin thats a bit different from just sovs, something a bit weird, in the 3g-8g range, and if i can justify it to myself...a proof 1oz 2014 brit...

Anything you guys are after if you attend?

Well what a nightmare. Traffic was terrible. Still got a SA proof 1 rand for £89 so happy enough with that. While these shows are not great they are worth a look aometimes.

Think the toll road was closed and some other motorway issues - heard it on the radio earlier.

Can't find much info about it. Is it like a auction, or a event where companys like royal mint, HGM, etc.. or more like you grab your coins rent a table their and hassle with the visitors :D

The latter.

Some decent size dealers there, but a lot of tat too.

TBH it wasnt as good as some of the smaller ones i have been to. No german 5 reichsmarks at all. The usual RM dealer there, the big one, didnt seem to have a 2014 proof brit. What they did have that i thought was taking the piss was things that you can buy from the RM website now for sale. An example would be the new £20 for £20 on offer at £30....

Meh. still at least i bought something even though i had more cash to spend. Just not willing to pay over the odds.
