Good job I bought all my Gold and silver these last few weeks. Everything is up today and only being kept down with the slighter stronger £ to $

Look at things move! Some serious rally, I bet a lot of traders made some serious cash today.

I have to be honest and say that I closed a highly leveraged spread betting position about 4 weeks ago (not sure exactly, seem to have lost track of time I'm so busy) for about £800 profit. If I held until today I would have made in excess of £5040, the price reached my original target.

Shame I was a wimp, though not that bothered, better than a loss.

Spread betting is a highly leveraged investment and you can loose more than you initial investment, so not wise to risk more than you can afford to loose. I used to trade a lot but stopped as there was never a regular income, and one loss could wipe out months of profits.

It'll all be in Keithoil's safe at the rate he's going.

He won't be storing it.  He's be building with it judging by the number of slabs he's got.

Graphs are looking good this evening. :D I'm starting to pull back on some of those losses over the last few years lol . Lets hope this continues. For those of us who started to stack late 2011/early 2012 we have a lot of climbing to do!

Chart all looks good here for a continues move upwards. Shame that gold and silver are going to get expensive this week.

back to £12.08  and golds lost this morning as well   im new to this , but if you watch this stuff weekly  , youd have no nails left ,  surely long term means  5 yrs or so

the only drawback I would say to long term is this

say you didn't check silver for 5 yrs and forgot about it  , the price could in theory go  2014 £11.70     2016  £15.00   2018 £20 .00

2020  £13.00    if you didn't check in 2018  you would have missed a sell opportunity

Ah but in 2022 the price rocketed to £50, and you'd have been a daftie for selling at £20 in 2018   :P

World instability causes higher demand for physical precious metals and therefore purchase prices up. You could view buying precious metals as a hedge against economic collapse / the inevitable collapse of the dollar. The dollar might crash soon, might not even crash in our lifetime. But will eventually collapse.

And the same week that happens, a silver mine finds the biggest concentration of silver ever discovered, over 2 million tonnes ;) , so much so that the silver price collapses to £1 an oz.

Does anyone think this is the big bear squeeze, or is it like said above just because of world events.

Also my research about new silver finds in the Mexico ( I suppose that is the one you are talking about) the costs of mining and the amount and they will take out of the ground are factors to be taken into consideration.  Put it another way they won't cut there nose off to spite there face.

World events, the global economic structure seems to be standing and - apparently - improving and this is reflected in strengthening stocks and property markets, something which typically results in a falling cost of PM's as the big money moves towards the former

Oil price spike, that's what's driving the rising PM prices.

That being said, i'm no economist, but that's what I reckon is happening.
