What Will Politic Mean for Silver Prices?

Recommended Posts

I know that the presidential elections of 2016 sound like a long time away from now, but one thing is certain, we are going to have a new president, and most likely a new direction in this country. What could that possibly mean for the price of silver?

If one party wins over the other, could we expect prices to move up or down?

Just want to get some feedback, so as to make some plans and consider strategies.

Thank you.

Can't remember which way this runs and can't be bothered to do the research but it's well known that in every Presidential election year, US stocks go on a strong bull run; either just before the election or just after. What effect this will have on PMs is up to you to decide.

In the UK the pound usually weakens before elections due to uncertainty which in theory should make pms more expensive. You can probably check the history of the $ trend pre US elections and see if you'll have a similar outcome there.

The problem is that pms can be much more volatile that currencies so any pm smackdown may cancel out any well timed pm purchase.

My guess is that the upward dollar trend will continue for some time yet.
