I did start collecting date runs of sovs for the various heads but got bored with it TBH.

I finished Victoria Jubilee and Veiled head, Edward and George but sold them all as sets.

I'm doing silver now, finished BU Kooks, only need 1 or 2 for a complete Brits. Started on the lunars now; off to a good start by buying a ubiquitous 2 oz proof S2 (8 coins) set from Silber Corner. Working backwards with S2 1 oz. Started the stock horses and goddesses.

The proofs Danny, ive been looking at them on ebay for a while now.

They seem reasonably priced for proofs so i'm hoping to buy 1999 to 2003 on payday

and then a couple per month until i'm up to date :)

You won't regret it, they are a cracking coin - and as you say, currently very reasonably priced.

1oz PM Lunar BU

1oz RM Lunar BU

1oz Chinese Panda

Morgans

Not got the money to do date-runs of gold, not a bad thing especially since (for me) it's much harder to part with date runs.

I doubt it, my passion is still pre-1888 sovereigns. I'm sort of working on a date run for Victoria (not consciously but happening slowly) but some of these are bloody expensive so I add them when I can. When you take into account all the variants, there's no chance I'll ever get there but it's fun.

I'm also working backwards into William (bloody difficult to get hold of) and the two Georges territory, and then there's the guineas!

Currently I am collecting/have date runs in (all silver below):

1oz stock horse

1oz BU kookaburra

1oz PM BU S2 Lunar

2oz PM proof S2 Lunar

1oz Perth Mint high relief (all)

2oz Gods/Goddesses of olympus

I would like to also eventually collect date runs in:

1oz chinese panda
1oz PM S2 lunar proof

1oz PM S1 lunar proof

1oz PM S1 BU lunar

(possibly) 2oz S1 lunar proof
1oz & 2oz kookaburra proofs

10oz BU kookaburra

kilo kookaburra, kilo lunar (not 100% sure on these)

I will also eventually get a full date run of gold kangaroos, previous years don't seem to have such a huge premium like the pandas. When I can afford I will buy some pandas here and there when they can be found for reasonable prices.
