The new fifth definitive portrait of The Queen and its designer will be officially announced at a special ceremony on Monday 2 March 2015 and will begin to appear on UK coins from that date onwards.

I hope they make it flattering.. I don't really like the current design, wrinkles and everything, but I suppose it's only going to get worse

I would actually really like it is they just did a nice portrait of a young her at her best, but no real chance of that happening

What ever you think about the institution of monarchy and privllidge I would much rather Lizzie on the coin than big ears

Skip him, give it to William, get Will some hair plugs or whatever Wayne Rooney is doing

He was a handsome young man, seems to have aged very quickly...

Best would be Kate on the coins though

Sooooooo does this mean that all the Lunar, all the commonwealth coins etc, etc, etc, (sounds like Yul Brynner) for the younger ones here you are...http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049408/

Will have to be minted again with the new portrait.

I think they will just keep the old portrait until the lunar series is finished in 4 years time. At least I hope so. The inconsistency of the obverse would annoy me.

My posts are my personal opinions, they do not constitute advice or financial advice.

I don't know Chris it wouldn't really bother me about changing the obverse you never have that side showing in your case anyway, you look the interesting reverse of the coin.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.
