Hi all,

I have problems uploading pics, just says:

An error occurred

You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.

It´s a 900kb JPG pic, is it too big? wrong format? or is it something else?

It might of been that there was a restriction on your profile. New members are in the new member category until they have posted 5 times, then are then upgraded automatically to member status.

If you are still have issues with any part of the site, then try with another browser. I know some members were having issues with internet explorer.

Chrome seems to work perfectly for everyone.

Hi Chris

I am using chrome!!!

Keith

Keith, if your referring to uploading excel files then it's most probably because I have only allowed specific file extensions to be uploaded.

So I will need to add your excel type to the list of allowed uploads for it to work.

What is the file extension you are using to save excel files? e.g. .xls

Hi Chris

It is excel 2010 file so xlsm.

Keith

Humm, I can't seem to find any settings for document file types. Only for image file types.

I remember I uploaded an excel file before, in an .xlsx format.

Try saving your document as .xlsx if possible and try uploading.

Not being funny, but there is no way I would download an excel spread sheet from an unknown source. It could contain anything. You have to be very security conscious on the internet. Especially this forum!!!

Hadn't even thought of that.

Take it you can embed stuff in a file and access it remotely.

I'm sure the OP has the best intentions, maybe use his file as an idea of how to create your own spreadsheet.

I have mine, but it's very simple as I don't track costs, purchase date etc.

Stacker since 2013

Yes, you can embed all sorts of VB script into excel. I  could create something that would direct you to a 'blank' web site which downloaded spyware to your computer as soon as you started to enter data, for example. I could be reading your email before the week was out. And other such fun! lol

I am not accusing anyone, or suggesting anyone here would do that - but considering the open to all sign up policy, and the subject matter, I think we should all be very aware of what we are downloading and from whom on this forum. And others like it for that matter!
