Aha, I see. 

Maybe everyone is waiting on an even cheaper price? HGM will buy it for £220 currently so that's a long game to play.

Interesting point. 

Initially I offered this for sale in a thread with 1/10th eagle @ £110 and 1/20th monkey @ £55 and 2x proof sov @ £500 but there was no interest so tried splitting!

I can't see how I can reduce prices from there as I would be as well just giving to a dealer!

I'm surprised the fractionals didn't sell. The proofs are 'special' and will need the right buyer.

Maybe, maybe not. Like I say the prices are getting to the point of just sending off to HGM directly so I'm not particularly bothered.  

 

A year or or two ago this forum had a lot of action on the sales side and I enjoyed using it. This last year it's become much less effective than almost any of the Facebook pages which is sad to see.

 

For me, switching memebership to monthly was a poor move but maybe it makes more money now?

I think if you listed closer to hgm scrap prices they would be picked up. In that last couple of months there have been solid deals on the forum, 1/10 at £100 and under sometimes, sovs for £225 and half’s for £115 and under. 1/20 usually £50-52.

If I look at my own buying pattern, I seem to hold out to buy as there is always a deal coming in. I bought a fair few of those deals myself. Although those prices may seem low, they are still better than what HGM would pay you especially for the fractionals.

Of course, but then gold has been £10-£15 an ounce cheaper at points in the last month. 

 

Buy the dips makes sense. Selling below spot price because it has been lower previously doesn't really.

Yeah I think it definitely indicates a lack of appetite to buy right now.
