Came across this, seems so much nicer than the plain silver version. You never know, it might even appeal to Back Yard Bullion!

They are trying to cover up the zombie dog!

Better - but not great.

Ye gads, and to think so many of us thought the original might have been the worst coin we'd ever seen!

Try to polish away by all means (even if the battle is already lost), and I will admire the effort, but don't give the turd half a set of false dentures and a roast chicken for a rear end! :o

(Mind you that roast chicken does look nicely cooked and crisp :))

Oh the tail is the (top) longest 'rear protusion'. I'd forgotten! On the small pic of the colourised one it looks like the right leg, with a stump of a tail, and then gawd knows what for the left leg.

I think they should have gone with the best they had and removed all but the rear, and called it the Year of the Roast Chicken Dinner :)

IMO this is a series that started in not a bad way but somehow managed to go downwards with every new coin, dog being the worst (of this series and maybe every other one out there!). For some (masochistic...?) reason though I keep collecting the gilded versions.
