hi guys,and gals

bought this today,on a wim. only because it has a good clear image we all know and love

looked it up online and it seems to be not very common? due to the LX on the side,

i dont know anything about crowns. anyone enlighten me?

seems a shame when you look at the head. wondered if it was possible to restore it,or is it not worth the effort?

1897 veiled head victoria crown. The LX refers to the regnal year of her reign; 60 years, she was crowned in 1837.
There is also a LXI (61 yrs) version of the 1897.

The total mintage for 1897 was about 250k I'm not sure the differential between the two varieties but their values are the same.

these VH crowns go for a good price in nice condition but this one is ruined and as far as I'm aware is impossible to restore.

Even in top notch condition it probably wouldn't be.

i think it makes a nice looking brooch.

Always cast your vote - Spoil your ballot slip. Put 'Spoilt Ballot - I do not consent.' These votes are counted. If you do not do this you are consenting to the tyranny. None of them are fit for purpose.
A tyranny relies on propaganda and force. Once the propaganda fails all that's left is force.

COVID-19 is a cover story for the collapsing economy. Green Energy isn't Green and it isn't Renewable.
