How great are Hatton garden metals?

Hi guys ?

Yesterday I sent 10 full sovs to Hatton garden metals to sell.  I’ve never sold any of my gold via a company before.  I ticked PayPal as my preferred payment method.  This morning I get a call from a lovley employee from HGM informing me that PayPal take a 10% charge if the payment is over £1000.  PayPal would charge me £200!! And I would i like a bank transfer instead.

I didn’t realise that PayPal charge as if never sold any that way before.  I think it great costumer service from HGM for informing me of this and in effect saving me £200 quid and that they deserve good feedback for this.  I’d definatly use them again for the ease and for the way they handled my sale.

Well done hatton garden metels and thanks for saving me £200 quid.

They are very good to sell to, bank transfer is on same day of receipt of the gold as it should be. They don't offer the best price on sovereigns but they are competitive on 1 oz coins and very reliable and professional to deal with.

I don't buy much from them anymore, I can almost always find better deals elsewhere, the exception is when they have 2.0% offers. I find that in terms of premium vs quality they are a risk, I have had a few bad experiences in the past so they are not my first port of call.

The charges from these companies are high. i have bought some silver from a guy in the US. He sells on ebay. i do a deal with him off ebay and not using paypal. It works out quite a bit cheaper. Ebay. amazon and paypal are robbing B's. They have something of a monopoly and exploit the fact.

Great service, should have sold them on here for a few £ more than they offered.

That’s what I was originally gonna do but I got a tidy price and it’s less hasstle.

I agree with KDave..don’t expect to receive a BU example when buying coins, you may well be disappointed.

That said, they did only charge a few % over spot for my gold coin.

There are several alternative companies who will send photos of coins I wish to buy, and from a collectors point of view it’s worth paying a bit more to bet a good clean example..There always seems to be a bit of a battle between bullion dealers and coin collectors.

I am surprised some of the bigger bullion companies don’t employ a grader for a few days a month, they could then value add on some of the better coins they receive..
