British trade dollar fake

So the British trade dollar that arrived this week, complete with COA I'm pretty sure is actually a fake:IMG_20180218_102244999.thumb.jpg.d3b79f3ef7905d250fd65f23530d7eb8.jpg

Weight was just over half a gram light; magnet fell straight off; and the colour just didn't seem as shiny as comparable coins. So today I did a specific gravity test (video to follow) and yeah, significantly less dense than 900 silver.

Oh well, the eBay seller has been excellent thus far, offering full refund for return, and I am reassured that I can pick up on fakes when I encounter them.

The story of your investigation would make a first rate video.

I came across a gold plated silver trade dollar. The density registers as silver. Not magnetic with a very strong neodymium.  Its slightly over the weight like it should be if its plated.  The details and outer edge are sharp and correct looking.  Seems to pass every test for a silver trade dollar.  But someone damaged it by plating? Can you reverse electroplate a coin?

Finally my main problem with the coin isn't if its silver.  (Unless its like 9k haha )

My issue is the mint mark and the date.   I shouldn't be able to come across a 1921B in Japan. Or anywhere. What do you think?
