First Sovereign

Hello everyone !

I've been stacking/collecting silver for a few months but I have now decided to focus on gold :D After reading many posts, the sovereign seems to be the best choice for me. My question is: should I buy a brand new Sov' or go for an older one considering the fact I'm looking to stack and not to collect? Where to get the best price?

Thanks :)

New ones and normal older ones don't differ in price a lot. So, for stacking it doesn't matter.

I guess that once you have a number of sovereigns stacked, you will want to start collecting...

If you want to collect, win the lottery first  :D

Thanks for your inputs ! I'll check gold.de as well as the forum to find my first sov !

Check out our website too - whether you are looking for bullion or dated sovereigns we have an enormous range to choose from. We have over 5,000 graded sovereigns being added to https://www.chards.co.uk/products?search=sovereign
If you are looking for something in particular let me know as we are busy listing all the sovereigns that we have, including some that have been sitting in boxes in the safes for years.

Your 2nd purchase should be a sovereign tube to motivate you to fill it

You're a bad man! :D

(quite correct, however ;))

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

Good luck with the collection.

 I think I'll follow your advice :D

Yes it is, 1927, South Africa if I'm not wrong :)

You are correct, more than 16 million minted there that year. Your coin is in great shape and that price was very good, congratulations!

Does this local collector have more??
