Why do a lot of bullion collectors like Chinese silver Pandas so much

Today I was trying to figure out why a lot of bullion collectors like Chinese pandas so much. Could it be mintage, quality, design or the fact that they are only 30g instead of a Troy ounce. I anyone could help me that would be great.

Pandas have a history of going up in price, even the new with 8-10M mintage

The older ones have a lot of variations, some year there are 4 version (2001)

The potential are high couse there are over 1B chinese and they have only been allowed to buy silver since 2000

Some dates and versions are hard to find in high grades, therefore the price is high 12-14k £/each ( only 2 graded MS70)

Also, they are adorable

Not convinced the 30g Pandas are as popular with stackers as the earlier years.
Also a coin that is renowned for fakes so buyers beware if not armed with the best images and specifications.

Plus, the newer ones that I've handled,  are very nice looking coins.

I buy them for the sheer beauty of them (the 2018 apart - gutted :( ). The quality is exceptional imo - out of hundreds I've only ever seen one genuine coin that isn't basically perfect to the naked eye.

Fakes are easy to spot but best get clued up if you're new to silver/pandas :)

they were allow to buy silver , BUT only via newspaper advertise and normally takes 2-3 months to arrive if they ever arrive ...... another problem is they were about 250-300 yuan  each sets and they will only sell u in sets back in the old days , however there is a bonus , most of them are SP grades even if they are not proof

even at expo no body cares about Chinese mint in the early days, most people visit the western counter :D , I used to visit the Chinese counter cos that's the only place u can get free sweets :D

MY TOTAL FORUM TRADE FEEDBACK IS 100 AND IT IS 100%

So, it's a mixture of factors that make the Chinese pandas popular then. Would you Guys recommend, I buy some then because they will carry a higher premium in the future when i come to sell them.

Buy older pandas in that case

If I were to start over, I would go for graded MS69-70

Start with pre 2010, 2011-2018 you can get cheap so no need for stacking them

I prefer NGC but lots of collectors like PCGS best

That is rely up to your own taste

You can always check out my webpage about pandas

Anyway, good luck with your collection/stack
