Anyone dabbling in crytpos and wishing to take some profits, Sharps Pixley to accept bitcoin payment from customers

London gold dealer opens up to the world's most popular cryptocurrency

ondon bullion dealer Sharps Pixley will allow customers to pay for gold and other precious metals using digital currency bitcoin, the company said on Tuesday.

Sharps Pixley, which last year opened Britain’s first showroom making gold coins and bars available to private investors in London’s elite district of Mayfair, said it would offer the service though payment processor BitPay.

Bitcoin is the world’s most popular cryptocurrency and enables individuals to transfer value to each other and pay for goods and services outside the regulated financial system.

Its dollar value has more than tripled this year but it remains highly volatile.

“Many investors in Bitcoin would like the option of holding intrinsic value in a traditional safe haven asset like gold; and be able to switch across in a simple and cost effective way,” said Sharps Pixley chief executive Ross Norman. “That avenue is now open to them.”

Great news but it's a shame that this still applies.

''For transactions above £5,000, our usual Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Client procedures apply; we require a valid photo ID and proof of address''

It's not a problem I have to worry about right now though

Buy several deliveries at £4999 value then? Assuming they don't count all transactions to one address / POBox as one tally.

Not a problem I'm going to face either right now :P I don't go near Bitcoin, for a start.

Their site is down right now though. Been trying to price up some cheap sovs.
