Are you sure those flips are PVC free Johnno?

Possibility it may be the storage box?

Very unusual for a new coin to tone so quickly.

Suggests contamination of some sorts, either chemicals leeching from paper / card or plastic container.

Fine silver will stay shiny for years but sterling silver or other alloys will tarnish earlier especially if kept in a room with smokers or an open fire.

I put Silicia Gel packets in my monster box to soak up all that moister, Also put 1 small packet in each tube, that will also prevent toning as much as possible you can get these small 1gram selicia gel packets from Amazon for around 4 quid delivered.

I do the same, 4 x 1g packs in each storage case.

Unsure if it works, but it makes me feel better.

Stacker since 2013

putting in a block of camphor would be a good idea too, and it`s cheap to buy.

use mothballs, the original napthalene sort not the dichlorobenzene modern replacements in your tool box to prevent rust also :)
