Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Received these today.  Speculative buy and yes, I did pay what I think was silly premium for it!  and bought into the 'scarce' Pobjoy mint Bu Falkland Islands 'Britannia Rules the Waves' ...we'll see in time if this gamble pays off! But I do like the coin so it might cushion the eventual disappointment of its price plummeting!

Another Rocking Horse Crown which was at a very enticing price on eBay.

The star of the show for me today however,  is the bu Netherlands Lion.  What a beauty.

I have a couple of these and a bunch of other pre-2000 proof full and half sovereigns. Still trying to decide whether they are worth grading????

I don’t want to rain on your parade, if that’s genuine is solid money.something about the nose/lip area doesn’t look right to me. I have had one of these before.

A few years ago these were very unloved but I defect sentiment gradually changing for Proof Sovereigns generally.

I agree, the 4 in the date doesn't look correct either.

Today I sacked my previous account manager at the Royal Mint.

Forgot to order me a 2018 Beatrix Potter Roger Rabbit 50p Proof for my Grandson - unforgivable!!

Forgot to order me the 2018 Queens Beasts 1/4 Oz Proof Black Bull - plain ridiculous!!

Both were on Regular Order - I was (past tense now) with the Marque Department - sacked them for the normal sales team - far more reliable and friendly!

You have an account manager? What do they do?

I just go online and buy, got a few of the 1/4 Bulls no issue

Finally got my 2016 sixpence, in this format. I guess it's the same coin as the single coin box. But I think that came out first and more expensive.

Also I wanted a 1986 Eagle and the person on eBay also had this 25th anniversary one.
