Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

@Goldfinga, if @muenzdachs has what you're looking for, I can't recommend them highly enough.  The client service and pricing (even with me being across the pond) is top notch.  I don't think you can go wrong picking either of the two you mentioned (the 1/4 oz or 1/10 oz BU).  Good luck with the search and let us know what you pick up!

That's great@Jester  thank you for the reply. I will make a decision this week and let you know.

Thanks again!

Nothing special to most here but chuffed with my first PM purchase, a 2017 full sovereign.  Hopefully the first of many!

Ive been doing this for 1 month now, I have the same sovereign as you.

I have gathered a fair bit of Silver and a MS69 1/20th Gold panda in that month but the Sovereign is my favorite by far.

I see it as a start of a sovereign journey.

Maybe the engraver mixed up the penny and pfennig that time :D

Nahhhh, it's the die that has a break in it, seen it before on an 1860 penny, the E in ONE makes it look like ONF PENNY

I thought that sometimes grease clogs up the depression in the dye so that no metal can flow inside

Possible but also likely it was the punch that was used to impression the "E" into the die that had the broken edge.

Not anything shiny but an equally treasured gift extended to a Yank across the pond from Token Publishing.  A free copy (not even a shipping charge) of Coin News and Medal News.  These are beautiful publications and I'm seriously considering an overseas subscription.  Many thanks to the outstanding folks at Token!

BTW...check out that very interesting Isle of Man coin pictured at the bottom right of the Coin News cover.
