Licence from Niue Island - therefore Niue Island on Obverse

Mintage: 10.000 - coming in tube - 15 coins in each one

Strange seeing a coin with the Queen's head on the obverse and Czech Republic on the reverse.

I rather like that design, detailed lion, not a lot of clutter.  

The Czech coin with QEII thing is a bit odd, maybe someone can explain how these licences work (in another thread)?

having the queen on it puts me off tbh , i like the lion design but having her maj on it doesnt seem right to me

Being issued from two entities is indeed odd, almost as odd as a lion with two tails?!

About two tails:

By Dalimil chronicle was blazon lion reward from emperor Friedrich I. Barbarossa to king Vladislav II. for helping to conquer of Milano on 23 July 1158.

First historical proof is on seal of moravian nobleman Vladislav Jindřich from year 1213. But number of tails isn't recognizable.

Second tail was allegedly (again by Dalimil chronicle) added as reward from Roman king Oto IV to Czech king Přemysl Otakar I. for helping to defeat Saxons in 1204.

First reliable image of two-tailed dragon is on seal of prince Přemysl Otakar II from 1247

 Do you mean Saxony and not Saxons? My history is a bit fuzzy with non Anglo Saxons.

 As for the coin, I hope SWMBO doesn't hear about it, otherwise there will be no surprise.

good looking coins ! kind of expensive imo. Wish it wasn't by Niue though. id probably buy just one just to say I have it.
