Silvergun reacted to Spanishsilver in NEW St. George and the Dragon coin with Garter inscription
I didn’t even set an alarm for this release my account manager is on the phone every other week offering me this rubbish then the next load of rubbish I asked to reserve a 2oz gold and guess what nothing. I’ve decided if she can’t offer me the coins I actually want I’m not buying anything from them. Just like Rolex I’m done with them.
no hard feelings I’ve got watches I’ve got proof gold coins I’m sticking with bullion for the foreseeable future.

I think this is the rarest one I have. Never seen another bullion 2016 half sovereign knocking about. Marsh has it at fewer than 500 so pretty rare 👍🏼

Unless you bank with nationwide and you can do all the checks and then they still block your card when you try to pay.. not always.. just sometimes. It’s part of the fun 😭😭.

Silvergun reacted to ChrisSilver in 10oz £15,000+ Gold Coin sells on TSF
This absolute stunner of a coin has sold on TSF. I am not sure if it is the largest gold coin to have been sold on TSF so far but I think that it possibly may be? (I know for sure that it isn't the largest transactions to have taken place on TSF, but it likely is the largest single gold coin to have been sold?)
This sale shows that TSF members are interested in Gold as well as Silver.
Thank you to @ilovesilverireallydo for listing this very unique piece for sale which has a mintage of only 50 and a huge congratulations to the buyer who purchased this absolute stunner of a coin. I am sure there are many (myself included) who wished they had such a budget for such a showstopper of a coin! I would have superLoved this coin but had already hit my daily limit of 1 superLove per day 😅
❤️
Looking forward to seeing the many interesting pieces both large and small that are listed on the forum in the future.

Silvergun reacted to GoldDiggerDave in The Coronation Sovereign of HM King Charles III 2023
It’s down to personal choice and goals. Price and value are two different things, if you don’t see any value in proof sovereigns then it’s very likely you won’t return any value so bullion is a better option for you.
I’ll pick up a few tubs of special year reverse bullion sovereigns as they normally hold a slightly higher premium over time. Proof sovereigns for me a joy to collect and there’s zero pain in holding them.
Collecting at both ends of the sovereign spectrum hedges its self. Tubes of jubilees were £8,300. And proof Jubilee £5 were moving for £5,500-£6,000 each the fulls were £950-£1000 each ……..what’s the problem here?
The proof Jubilees have done very well, the memorial is a first, but it’s such a nice deign especially in the larger £5.
As for the price I don’t care, the value of holding the memorial proof sovereign set of a new monarch is well worth more to me than the price I paid.

Silvergun reacted to TheShinyStuff in Great Engravers - Petition Crown (Gazette Proclamation)
It is. I was all set for this one, I have missed all the other engravers so far, and quite liked the look of this one.
But its way to expensive. The golds are out of my reach, and a £560 entry point for the silver is comical - £140 an ounce is sheer greed and likely most of them will have problems.
Not having the option to buy the coins individually like the gothic crown is a mistake I think.
It's a nice coin, but not for me at the price.
So my £560 will stay with me for now and go towards the Coronation sovereign.
Disappointed. Again.
