The reason they ask is to make sure the contents aren’t on the prohibited list (batteries / guns etc). So you can either say ‘nothing on the prohibited list’ and attract attention, or just lie and say ‘work ID’ or ‘legal paperwork’. They aren’t keeping a list of what to steal (hopefully) and will probably handle more valuable things than a couple of sovs on a daily basis. I understand the trepidation though - it doesn’t go away!
