oliversw5 got a reaction from silversky in NK gold coins
Yes, but in my humble opinion I wouldnt bother, the numbers he quoted me were ridiculous. I believe the silver has 300 and the gold 30 mintage.

Ill give a little more detail.
The brass have a mintage of 3000 and the aluminium a mintage of 5000. All coins come from the NK mint and are stamped with the denomination in WON (I believe the side with the stamp is the royal palace).
I bought all of these coins raw as a longer term investment (as many of you know I sell silver and gold). I bought the slabs and the labels were made for me to print out. If you are looking for a coin that is low on premium these are not for you, however they do have investment potential as much as they are marmite.
The coins that I personally feel will do well are the eagle and vulture and also he big dragon, I was told the latter they had issues sourcing the base metal and thus the mintage was far lower.

I actually have a contact who sells NK coins, I opted to buy about 100 brass and aluminium coins and I was surprised by the quality. Sad thing is I don't really have the platform to sell them as they are not PMs.

Oh goodness, some of these are gorgeous (even if some others seem confused on the difference between horse and cow)

I looked into these a little while ago. A mate was suggesting them and I reckoned they would be a bit pricey in term of spot + Turns out they are not a bad price at all and I was wrong. Look really cute too. Not sure I can ever see them being snapped up and used as currency but they are an interesting idea.

A 1990 1/2 oz gold proof kiwi for spot.
The reverse probably took inspiration from the 1937 New Zealand Florin, adding the Silver Fern, which almost replaced the New Zealand flag.

Put in my final purchase for 2017 for 25oz of silver.
That takes me to 523oz accumulated in 2017, and a total of 1325oz.
I also have 1oz of gold.
Will have additional financial commitments next year but I think I should be able to add roughly another 500oz or whatever the equivilent in gold is the GSR moderates back to a level I'm happy to buy at. Bring on the zombie apocalypse!

I actually want to add to that. Most people don't understand the psychology of buying and selling. There will be situations where you are a price taker and situations where you are a price giver. You want to be the latter when you come to sell. There are many methods you can use, I won't go into it too much because one day Ill put it into a book and sell my knowledge (thats what everyone else seems to do). I will give a scenario though, if you own high end coins if you go to an auction you are a price taker and its luck of the draw. If you have the network and you know your friends and other collectors you can become a price giver. People do business with their friends and as long as the price is fair you can dictate more, by doing this you make money by your knowledge and your skill set. Ill offer another example, if you have just pure bullion you are a price taker, there will be a market equilibrium (thats changes everyday) and you want to make sure you are under the curve when buying so that there is room to sell and make money. The higher your skill level the more potential money you can make.
