    What did you get?

5 sterling silver dinner forks. 1844 fully hallmarked. I'm getting quite good with my hallmarks now. It's fascinating stuff and I've picked up several items at scrap value but were made by very collectable makers or have regional city marks which make them worth quite a bit more than scrap. I love history and to be able to pick up items over 200 years old is a bit of a buzz.

I find "collecting" these items can be much more profitable than coins. Unlike coins. sellers quite often don't know what they have and with a little knowledge bargains can be had on a regular basis.

I'm seriously considering selling all my coins and going into sterling flatware exclusively. It gets my collector genes and researcher genes going, as well as being easy to sell when needed. I can buy below spot regularly. The usual ebay tricks of mispelt words and phrases often throw up bargains (much more than you see in the coin category). But items correctly spelt and correctly described nearly always go for well over spot even after ebay fees.
Oh yes I nearly forgot, I can also get the Goddards out without being made to feel as though I have committed some cardinal sin.

Sorry@vand but you have much to learn too.
If you wait too many years before a price rise in pms any profit could be wiped out by inflation. What you really need is a few years at a low price then a year at a high price. Then repeat the cycle many times over your lifetime

Thank you @sovereignsteve for this pirate booty. 2oz silver kraken. My favorite silver rounds to date.

I did also place a bid on that, but once it went over £2500 I knew I was bidding against people with much deeper pockets.
I already have a pretty decent graded one in PR58, but was looking to upgrade and then selling my current one.
I love the design of coins from around that era

The latest in the Chinese Classical Garden Series 2016 Liu Yuan.  I will be braking it out of the OMP later.
The 2016 150g Chinese Panda.  Ended up buying it from China.  I passed on Muenzdachs.de original cheap pre-order since I was going to order it from EMK and expected a similar price as with previous years.  Unfortunately the price kept creeping up and EMK's offering was €279 which was more than I wanted to pay as it was a significant increase from previous years.  Luckily it is still a reasonable price from China.

Been away this past week and came home to a few packages which my dad was kind enough to take in for me.  I think he just wanted to hang around my place to get away from my mum.
2016 Isle of Man Angel Reverse Proof - Quite nice.  Need to dig out the normal one to compare with.  Each master sheet comes with a hologram but I don't know how many coins there are to a master sheet.  Pretty sure my ten has been cut from a larger sheet.
2016 Burkina Faso Crocodile - Yet another one of the many many coins from Africa which MCI are knocking out at the moment.
2016 New Zealand Mint Endangered Species Giant Panda - I'm glad the series is now complete.  They were releasing far too many each year.
2008 1/4 Chinese Panda - Big thanks to @Kman spotting this at Atkinsons and posting in the deal section.  Came in a capsule but has been well looked after so I'm pretty happy with it.

I blame @Numistacker for this one, ?. I bought a 15g baby panda, I really like the design on these.
It would be nice to get the 30g version but with a mintage of only 200, I can't see it happening.
