  2. Today I Received

Not to everyoneโ€™s taste I know but I think Coca Cola is one of the most collectible brands in the world. I thought this could be quite a good investment. I bought it from MCM on a pre-sale list and was promised it by Xmas. Obv itโ€™s literally just arrived! Iโ€™m pleased with it and it will be something I hold on to! Let me know youโ€™re thoughts. Did anyone else buy one?
  3. hi from a newbie

Hello and welcome! Enjoy the forum! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  4. Today I Received

Recieved these two beauts today from HGM. Always tend to receive newer sovs from the lucky dip, others tend to get the older sovs. Doesnโ€™t bother me too much. I suppose thatโ€™s the point of a lucky dip! Keeping my fingers crossed for an oldie or two at some point though. Maybe in the next purchase ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป
  5. Today I bought.....

Wow! I never seem to get oldies, recieved two 2009โ€™s. Nice quality though! Iโ€™m happy! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

  9. @BackyardBullion that's so cool. Super jealous! Looks like you had a great time and to return with 20kg of.999 silver shot is another level. Standing by for the interview ๐Ÿ˜
  10. Today I made.....

@Pipers from the videos I have watched, its seems .999 silver is easier to work with than the .925 that I have been using. Also .925 tarnishes quite easy compared to the .999 I am still very much a novice and learning alot still as I go along. I use MAPP gas and a BURNZOMATIC torch. I intend on getting a furnace at some point soon am able to keep the metal hotter for longer and also larger quantities of silver. Great fun though. Pictures to follow.
  11. Today I made.....

@Pipers I have had a go at pouring 925 silver bars. I have made 15 so far over 3 90 minute sessions. I will post some pics at some point. They are pretty cool, look really nice! Not as easy to work with as it seems to be with 999 silver weigh around 20g.
  12. What is this?

I would hazard a guess at possibly some sort of overhead wire conductor for trains or trams. The back seems to be scorched or something. And silver is an awesome conductor! Obviously just a guess though, I haven't a clue ๐Ÿ˜‚
  13. 2005 kilo Panda - was this a bad deal?

    Awesome! Quite a bargain! Congrats
  14. New to the forum and looking for some help.

WElcome to the forum! Awesome collection you have there. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  15. 1/4oz or 1oz coins?

Sovereigns! By far the best value for money when buying, however unless you get a super quality good date, not worth much of a premium when selling, unless you paid that premium when you bought it. 1oz rounds however can accumulate a larger premium in a shorter time. I think it depends on the person and the reason for collecting. I am in it for the investment and the satisfaction of collecting and earning my precious metals. Either way, you can't go wrong with sovs ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  16. Hi guys, I recently acquired a silver jubilee 1977 crown. I was given this free by an eBay seller as a compensate for a lengthy wait on an item to be dispatched. I am aware that there is a cupro-nickel version which has a high mintage and also a sterling silver version. I thought that there would be a way to tell which is which by checking the specs I.e weight diameter and thickness. However from what I have seen, they are exactly the same with all specs. I have included both the screenshots off numista. I was wondering if anyone could explain how they are identical in specs but made of a different metals. TIA guys. Look forward to your knowledge and responses, Chris ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  17. Any help? Iโ€™m confused!

@Goldhooked I agree they are easy to tell apart just confused that two coins composed of different base metals weigh exactly the same and are the same dimensions. Appreciate your reply though ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  18. Today I bought.....

@Numistacker yes itโ€™s the .925 crown. Came with coa. Did a gravity score test aswell as Iโ€™m aware these were produced in cupro-nickel also.
  19. Today I bought.....

@metalslug Iโ€™m super jealous. A fine set you have started there! just the quarter (if they minted one in this year) and the 5 to complete?! Looking forward to your post of the complete set! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  20. What are these please?

I agree with @Bumble good appraisal and seems accurate! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  21. Today I bought.....

@metalslug was this an eBay purchase? Think I saw it! It went for a pretty penny! ๐Ÿ˜ love it though. Beautiful toning! Hard to get a 1937 better than that!
  22. Storing silver coins

I use capsules over flips. A lot more durable and reliable. I also use film canisters as โ€˜tubesโ€™. They are the perfect diameter for florins, also fit shillings and better than that, fit sovereigns in capsules also. You can buy 10 on eBay for a couple of quid! Keeps everything tidy and also the film canisters are pretty much air tight. I canโ€™t guarantee that but the lids fit bloody tight ๐Ÿ˜‚.
  23. Today I bought.....

Paid ยฃ6.25 for this proof IOM Silver jubilee crown. Worth more than that for melt value. I do love a bargain ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
  24. Any help? Iโ€™m confused!

Oh 100% I have the cupro version. Iโ€™m more querying how the specs can be the same for differnt metals. It makes coins hard to identify and I find it hard to believe that they weigh the same and have the same dimensions when they are made of different metals. Lol ๐Ÿ™ˆ
