The following is not financial advice, only my opinions and interpretations, I would suggest seeking professional financial advice if you are unsure.
Have a read of these badges of trade from HMRC.

If you are just selling your own coins as a collector/investor you don't have anything to declare as trading. It would all work as selling assets so profits over the CGT threshold would need to be declared. CGT coins do not need to be included in those calculations.

A beautiful 2004 Sov thanks to @Goldfinga. My OCD urges me to take it out if the package and put it in a capsule but haven’t decided yet

Well the story is.... that they (originally) sell the coins and do several production runs... i.e. the 3010 coins mintage.. when they sold them not all had been produced... therefore the one I got (supposedly) was one off the next production run... then at the end those that still hasn't received or those where there is an issue they will still mint and then anything over (i.e. returned items) would be destroyed. Now is that true? well I am not sure but the one I had returned was pretty good

Ok so "new" 3G 2oz came this morning...... and I can breath again.... It seems fine this time.. Queenie doesn't have any extra crease marks on her neck... The capsule is a little scratch suggesting they re-used the old one but it seems fine to me

It's the second coin in the Great Engravers series. If you don't know what happened to the first coin, Una and the Lion, you have been napping😉
The Mint has only increased the mintage for the second coin by a small amount and IMO this one is a better design than the Una, although not as iconic.

I’ll be honest, I sold my grade 70 Una and regret it - I got a silly amount of money for it and can’t complain but something about that coin I miss a lot. Will at some point return to the market to try and get a replacement.

In about 3 months, this market will settle a bit and we’ll all be speculating on the next coin in the series and 66 pages will be a drop in the ocean.
The first 2 coins in this series have been spectacular; iconic designs which have been minted to a very high standard. These are just very different to other series and their popularity is huge outside of the UK with many going to Japan and the US for example
There is a certain level of FOMO, a certain level of flipping but the Una started off reasonably obtainable but as the awareness of this coin grew it proved the backbone of these sales is just how unique and high quality this series of coins actually are. The feeling when it arrives at your door and you open the case is something I haven’t experienced with many moderns. You can watch YouTube openings with experienced collectors opening these coins and being blown off their feet with them.
There is no easy answer with this coin, it’s popularity is based off how special they are but in turn this has created a whole new level of flipping and secondary markets including grading which is currently out of control.
The fact the Three Graces wasn’t a disappointment just means this could just continue to snowball until the next release

Just as a small aside I'm descended from Henry VII
My grandpa was part of a Scottish clan which someone set up a genealogy page for, you can trace right back from my grandpa to Henry VII who married his daughter Margaret to James IV of Scotland

5oz silver is the perfect size for this design and low mintage - no chance I’m flipping mine, it’s simply stunning and I think it will pick up momentum; it’s just lost in the 2oz chaos we are currently seeing. It’ll have it’s time

I think that some bidders on EBay don’t really look around properly. You can regularly see people paying more in an auction when they can get it as a buy it now elsewhere cheaper. I have dropped out of auctions and take the BIN item when the auction has exceeded the BIN price and yet people continue to bid up the auctions. I’ve never understood that......

Lets compare a spade to a spade
Has there ever been a popular proof release from the Royal Mint that was very well received, gained a huge premium then dropped off to nothing?
Maybe a SoTD sovereign or two? not that they dropped off to nothing but if I remember right the Brexit ones initial prices was £1000+ on Ebay and now you could maybe hope to get one for ~£700
A more direct comparison to the Thee Graces though the Una seemed to just go up since release
I'm personally very happy to hold these coins indefinitely and see where they go, I might actually start a poll to see what others are planning

Imagine... If demand wasn't crazy enough already...
Anyone wondering why they chose Una and 3g first instead of holding them back, could turn out to be a RM masterstroke. They have really peaked the interest from 1st coin and have so much more to choose from for the remainder

Oh wow, that Flora obverse is gorgeous. I don't know much about UK minting legislation but is it mandatory for the Queen Elizabeth to be on all newly minted coins? I guess it would still be amazing with her portrait on the reverse if they had to change something.
Quite new to UK/European numismatics and got drawn in the past year through Sovereigns. You guys have a few hundred more years of minting than we do so there really are quite a few beautiful designs.

9 Billion people in the world. 3,500 silver. Lots of millionaires and wealthy coin collectors. Once initial supply dries up medium term should do much better imho. This is not a “fad” 🪙
Those who cannot find a gold, forget affording it, will go to silver. The graded ones are another rule unto themselves. Same story with those. When they dry up in supply in 6-9 months the value of them in 2 years time for those wanting to collecting the whole series will be much higher. Imagine starting to collect this series in year 3! You’ll really have to it then.
