According to this calculator: 15% import duty + 11% VAT

Would, probably, be a good idea to contact the Indonesian Embassy.

Thought I'd better make it 3 posts 😊 - as this lovely Sovereign also turned up today, and didn't want it to feel left out 😏 - big thanks to @reidpj  for a great deal & speedy delivery 👍

My first 'proper' Shield Back Sovereign (I'm not counting my 2002, as it's only a reproduction! 😅) - and as coincidence would have it, it's exactly the same type & die number as the coin posted by @LawrenceChard in his recent Macro Photos  post here:
Have a feeling this won't be my last Shield Back either 😉

From memory going back years, about 3.5g per tonne is considered average. With modern mining they can mine down to 1g per ton economically

Gold jewellery worst forms of investment the best price obtain is scrap melt when selling.
    https://www.bairdmint.com/live-metals-pricing
I recently came across this issue when my mum wanted four gold bangles for her 70th birthday. The method to minimise the loss buy several 1oz Gold Krugerrands close to spot on the forum take them to India and pay for the artisan cost for melting and making into the design mum would like.
Still be losing 5-7% but it is a lot less than buying the jewellery from a shop. The only jewellery appreciated in value mums wedding jewellery purchased 45 years ago.
Unless your willing to wait several decades to break even don’t buy jewellery as form of Gold investment.

reidpj reacted to stefffana in Which silver coin brands are worth a higher premium?
    Hi, Sybilla!
It is very difficult to predict how your silver will sell in the future and how much from the premium you have paid will be recovered when you will sell. It is a lottery.
All of us been fascinated about shiny and beautiful coins and all of us have overpaid at beginning for first ounces of silver.
All of us have learned quick that stacking silver and collecting coins are two different leagues.
Stacking is accumulating for weight at the best price possible, collecting is paying sometimes high premium for our pleasure and/or vanity.
My advice is to start accumulating first looking at the best price possible, and in time, after gaining more experience in coins and precious metals you can start buying what do you like.
Keep an eye on Buy/Sell UK section. Because it is the most active section on forum, you will check and learn very quick about the real market prices for silver bars and coins. You will see that the correct priced coins will sell in minutes and others will not sell. You will see also in real time the real demand for silver.
    Good luck in your journey!🤗
    Stefan.

CBDC’s will be a disaster for personal freedom. But not straight away.  The next generation or two will probably love it
my age group, born in the 60’s love zero cash    I mean properly love it ..
gold will be great as will silver.  A serious off grid movement will develop.  Physical trading well over paper, er I mean digital.
Bitcoin could well flourish in this environment. It’s the independent web based money ….
but this is all 10 years away.  Worry about this winters gas bills first !

That's exactly right, you have a full tube of coins that are yours, spot will go up again. Sometimes we get sidetracked on what we could have instead of appreciating what we do have ( I do it every day lol) that tube did not come easy and didn't happen overnight. neither will the rest, but like the tube has proven, it will happen.

@James32the forum 'gold hoover' will always get there before anyone else, as his team of butlers hit refresh on the for sale section every other second for him lol
he leaves the odd scrap for the common peasants now and then if the planets are aligned that day
Seriously, paid membership is a no brainer as @Abyss says. The right deal buying or selling will easily pay for your yearly fee. When I needed to raise £10k quick, I raised £14k in under half a day here on the forum
