Percentage-wise, I think it also depends on how much you have to invest. For example if you had a million quid in the bank and wanted to diversify, it's probably not recommended to buy £200k of physical gold & silver, but if you had £10k cash then I think buying £2k PMs would be a good idea.
Personally since buying a house I've been on a mission to get the mortgage paid off so I'm lighter in cash than I could be, and my PMs/cash ratio might look overly weighted toward PMs. But the alternative would be a more 'normal' ratio and more debt so I'm comfortable with it.
Re bullion - you really can't go wrong with sovereigns, although I find it a bit dull so added some flavour with other universally-recognised bullion coins like French francs & Aussie nuggets.

My wife and I have been saving into a shared pot and just counted it all out last weekend, coming in at £1900.
I had always planned to buy gold with my half and was leaning toward a Mexican 50 peso, however since starting this scheme we decided to put an extension on the house which is now complete and we're about £35k lighter  So looking at my savings account makes my eyes water at the moment and I'm not sure if I can splash cash on gold right now... I keep looking though.

The long term plan is progressing very nicely indeed.
Since writing this last year we've knocked off another 15% from the outstanding value of the mortgage.
Additionally I've now fully paid off my (0%) credit card, so going forward we'll that bit more cash positive.
We are still in the discounted period of our fixed rate, so there is no point in overpaying it more than 10%pa as they will charge us, so we pay as much as makes sense and then stockpile the rest of cash (of course some of it also goes into PMs). The discount rate ends on Sept 30th 2018 and then on 1st Oct I'm planning to make a single huge overpayment that will then bring the outstanding amount down to the size of a car loan.  All in all, I'm hoping to have the whole thing paid off within a year after that.
Looking forward to the day we make that final payment.. I don't think it's too far off now!

I also would be cautious with that paper wallet especially bought from eBay!
Here is a YouTube vid, I think the same process based on most comment above.
Make sure you test out with a small amount first.

One thing I don't understand... if bitcoin is completely decentralised and not owned or controlled by any authority or body, who decided to make this 'fork' on August 1st?

Funny you mention motorhomes, me and the misuses are currently saving for one with the plan to tour almost full time in (on campsites) no council tax, far less bills, pitch fees for the year less than rent, no noisy neighbors or if there is can just move the next day, no hard to park near your house, no mortgage, no getting kicked out by landlords selling up, ultimate freedom, less stress, beautiful surroundings, open road.
A slightly rose tinted specs view but for us it will be a dream come true. no need to get a mortgage when we are not having kids to pass onto and no need to pay of someone else and have no asset at the end.
Motor homes hold their value exceedingly well really.

I had the exact same experience with Coinbase. Tried to buy some bitcoin and etherium before the recent big spike but the exchange was either down, not accepting my verification details or my bank details. I tried contacting support but was completely ignored, and every time I went back to try again it seemed the price was a hundred quid higher. Eventually gave up and went to localbitcoins, but the shambolic experience with Coinbase left me about £300 lighter than I should have been.
Reading the community forums there are a lot of people not happy. The exchange went down again the other day so my advice to anyone considering it would be to not bother.

I'm no fan of Labour, but Theresa May and the Tories are in no position to use the 'terrorist sympathiser' narrative against Corbyn given May's record as Home Sec during the Libyan conflict. British Libyans, including the recent Manchester bomber, were given a free pass to go and fight against Gaddafi despite the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group they were part of being a recognised al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist organisation. This goes beyond 'terrorist sympathies', and indeed is nothing short of direct complicity in acts of international terrorism. It should be one of the biggest political scandals of our generation.
May said on the doorstep of no10 after the London attack that we are too tolerant of extremism. Yes we are Theresa, at government and diplomatic level. We all know where this ideology comes from and who funds the preaching of it around the world. But until we have a government with radically different foreign policy, we will continue to ignore it and prioritise lucrative alliances over the safety of our own people.
