I'm 28 and been stacking for near 2 years now, mainly a way to save money for a rainy day, it has helped me on a few rainy days! when did you all start? And why? just curious how far this goes back in the forum and can you remember spot price of the metals you stacked when you started?

A lot of metal scarp yards will pay you the current copper price for them.  What they do with them after that is not your problem then

I’m ready to be corrected, but I’m quite sure Sheldon XF45 is About Very Fine on the UK scale. I agree with you though, I think yours looks similar to that graded one.

Exactly what it says. This is recommended forum practice when the seller has no trading history or feedback, and the buyer has.
Yet you advocate the buyer sending payment without any guarantee they will receive the goods?
As far as I know, there are no integrity checks when someone becomes a Gold Member, nor does ebay seller status have to be proven

I don't wish to to get into an argument about this or denigrate you personally, you may well be the most trustworthy and reliable person in the world. However, we don't know that. You will realise there has to be trust in any sale, I am merely pointing out the risk is greatest for the buyer dealing with an unknown seller, and asking you to recognise this and see the other side of the "coin"

I always think if you buy a 1/10th with a slight premium then you can always sell it with the same premium, obviously not on this forum as everyone wants everything dirt cheap.
But to sell like a few people said wait till theres a £1 selling fee on ebay.

DaveWheat89 reacted to JCRJM in Question about the royal mint 1/10th gold brit capsules
I think all RM capsules are twist caps. Same when I got a 1/10 before. Not sure the reason for the edge. If its the bit at the end of the lid that sticks out more I think its for if youve seen a proof coin in its presentation box. It pushes into a pocket and that is to stop it getting stuck in the middle of it.

DaveWheat89 reacted to sixgun in 1985 1oz silver PROOF Engelhard Prospector <500 mintage
This is a point i made earlier - the price is very high and i do not think The Silver Forum is the place for a rare US specimen. If it were a rare sovereign perhaps but not a US round. As our colleague points out there are other places where people who appreciate these rare specimens can be found. Do not sell yourself short. If this round is worth £900 then make sure you get that sort of money. Good luck.

Atkinsons are very customer orientated (is that the right word? doesn't look right after a few), anyways I imagine they will rectify the problem after the holidays, in mean time, get it out of the capsule and have a play like a poker chip
