With prices hitting ATH pretty much every other day, have you thought about a cut off point?
Me personally, I’m still gonna stick with the plan of at least a sovereign or 1/4 oz a month till retirement and then cash out that Sovereign or quarter per month to help out when the pension isn’t enough to cover my planned life style of slow cars and fast women!!

Maybe I should accurately describe it...
Work, that place you go to trade your soul and time for shekels to try and f*ck the system

Yes , @James32it is , it’s the date of that krugerrand you sold me ,  my first ever one , I do prefer the 1886 one I got from @Fenlander1 as it changes colour it was sort of red brown when he sold it to me.  , it then went green , and now bits of it are falling off, . So is that what fractional coins are ??? bits that fall off the original coin , good idea then so it’s worth more money then 👍

Just for reference, civil defence sirens were tested occasionally prior to their decommissioning in the early 90s. I remember hearing tests a couple of times. I've also seen news reporting when site-specific sirens were tested in more recent years (eg at Devonport.)

    Completely disagree
In 1965 I spent half my first months wages on four gold sovereigns costing £16 in total
I still have those four to this day worth around £1800 in total
So is a starting wage today £3600 per month?
Gold is indeed a reliable long term store on value

You can't go wrong with precious metals either way. Gold goes up but is unaffordable and platinum is cheap and affordable. At one time not long ago platinum was dearer than gold. It may go back that way one day. Best to hold it than not.

For £60 more you can buy 2 oz of platinum qb coins or for £100 less one gold 1oz Britannia. It's always up to the individual.
